What We Did Today
At the beginning of class Ms. Lees was looking at our chapter 2 & 5 note taking and table comparison of women's rights because she printed out a worksheet for us to do. I guess Ms. Harris misunderstood. It's okay! Everyone makes mistakes. Ms.Lees can reuse it next year. We need to practice on note taking anyways.
We made a table on how to do note taking. The right side of the table was "Do" and the left side of the table was "Don't". Ms.Lees took a couple of samples of note taking and showed it to the whole class. Everyone one had different strategies so they can understand better. We highlighted the key ideas.
Near the end of class we watched a couple of videos about the Middle Ages.
Learning Intentions
Note taking is a great way for you to understand the concept more. If you can't memorize anything than its great because you have your notes written down. It helps us learn the main idea. It helps us study for exams,tests (etc..). We did the table of note taking so we can correct ourselves of what we did wrong.
Showing your work to the whole class takes a lot of courage. It builds up the confidence of the person.
Connections/ Reflections
I found it very useful doing a table for note taking because I found errors in my note taking. I did full sentences..OOOPS :o Note taking helps me prepare for tests, exams (etc..)
The videos of the Middle Ages was quite funny. I enjoyed the after death check in.
Sometimes people understand the concept better when watching a video clip or movie , listening to a song, researching on the Internet (etc..). I always wondered how I can learn a song on the radio for a short period of time but it takes me forever to memorize the concepts for science.
Homework/Tips
~ Do chapter 9 questions There Will Be Wolves for Wednesday
~ Finish chapter 8 questions
~Go to flex on Thursday if not finished note taking
~ Keep working on your goal!!! Good luck ;)
