Learning Log-Monday November 21

Learning Log~Monday November 21
Topics/What We Did Today

Today, we finished up organizing all of our portfolios leading up to the conferences that we will be having with Ms.Lees concerning our marks for this term. We also got the missing sheet of the Geography package and we were worked on that when we had finished our portfolios.

Why We Did What We Did/Learning Intentions

We did our portfolios so that we can see what we need to improve on over the course of this year, and to see our growth over a period of time (usually 1 term). Then we always know what we need to do to help the strengthen our weak spots. The Geography sheet that we got today was helping us to get more comfortable using an atlas and comparing different maps and information that we could find. We had to look through the different charts graphs and maps to find the specific thing we were looking for.

Reflections/Connections

I
felt pretty "marvy" today because I got how to use the atlas for the purposes given on the question sheet. And if I didn't get it or needed help there was Ms. Lees and tons of other people that I could ask. I know that the southernmost tip of South America is called the Cape Horn and in the west, the archipelago is called the Queen Adelaide Archipelago. (Cool name, eh?)
I might have to use an atlas when I'm travelling to different countries planning my route and the destinations that I want to visit.

Homework
  • Don't forget to post on your day (I almost forgot).
  • We have in-class time to work on the South America worksheet tomorrow.
  • If you haven't brought in posterboard, I would suggest that you fold your portfolio very soon...

That's it! Tomorrow Shanese will have the honour of posting the Learning Log.

  3. I like how this group is already thinking Head and making their blog very user friendly with gadgets and suggestions. Regarding the Adsense gadget - my suspicion is the district and some parents may not like it for reasons we can discuss further but I will inquire for you. Glad you had a Marcy day Sara!
